Abstract: The VantagePoint Network has created a public website for the agricultural industry. This website provides free access from a common location to the news, weather, and markets that drive the agricultural industry. Believing in information, the site also hosts an agricultural search engine with over twenty thousand links. Aerial imagery and reference data from the United States government is also available on VantagePoint’s public website. As agriculture moves into the information age, it will become vital that crop consultants learn how to access and use this agricultural information available to meet the needs of their customers and clients.

Abstract: The VantagePoint Network has created a crop management system for the agricultural industry. This management system is designed for the agricultural producer and their trusted advisors. Designed to record the details of production agriculture from the first tillage pass to the final activity of grain harvest, information can be shared between the agricultural producer and the agricultural professional supporting that producer. Information is stored on a secure central information system and access controls strictly enforce the privacy requirements of both the producer and professional. VantagePoint can enable the crop consultant to meet the needs of their customer as they enter the information age of agriculture.

Abstract: The VantagePoint Network has created an information system capable of tracking grain from the field to the point of first order origination for the agricultural industry. As grain is harvested and stored, the grain sales and storage component of the VantagePoint Network identifies the field from which the grain originated and carries that record forward to the storage structure in which the grain was placed. Along with maintaining inventories and crop sales information, this component maintains these records including co-mingling of grain in storage structures. This secure system can help the crop consultant better meet the needs of their customer.
